Indonesia Visa on Arrival Expansion
Indonesia's Ministry of Immigration has expanded its Visa on Arrival (VOA) program to include Panama, Guatemala, and Macau. This update, announced through Circular Letter Number IMI-0133.GR.OI.OI Year 2023, brings the total number of eligible countries to 92.
About the Visa on Arrival
The VOA scheme, introduced in the first quarter of 2022, simplifies entry for foreign travelers. Key features include:
- Duration: Initial 30-day stay, extendable for an additional 30 days (maximum 60 days total)
- Cost: IDR 500,000 or USD 35
- Application methods: On-arrival or electronic application (e-VoA) via molina.immigration.go.id
- Payment options: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, or JCB
Extension Options
Visitors can extend their VOA for another 30 days by paying 500,000 IDR at an immigration office. However, applicants still have to visit the immigration office 3 times to perform several technical procedures before finally getting their visa extended.
Recent Additions
Kenya and Rwanda joined the program in February 2023, with Kazakhstan added in January 2023. Before this latest expansion, 89 countries already had VOA eligibility.
